Ok, because of our struggle this weekend
with the Db (good news is we actually have it pegged now - performance
is thru the roof!) we're a little behind on completion of 1.4.
Give us the week to finish it off. Some updates:
Hope you are as excited as we are!

Pe@ce and Blessings to You! - i'm out ![]() Jesus is Lord, -Zxel Yesterday, January 25th 2008 we had our first '100 day'. We had 103 new members register in a single 24 hour period. That's a great number!
Usually we come in somewhere between 50 and 70 new users per day, but we doubled that! Thanks for all your support, and keep those new members coming! with the additions we've added in the control panel we know we're giving you more things to look at. While 2.0 is still coming, my job has tied me up substantially. So we decided to apply some changes to the existing site and package, and update from 1.3 to 1.4. This should be completed by the 29th. last night we moved the site over to a newer, MUCH bigger server. Due to the success we have outgrown the last server. It did great. Lasted us about a year. It was a dual CPU AMD with 2 GB of RAM. The server we've migrated to has 8 CPUs on it. It's a beast! To be honest this one could easily be replaced in a year. As fast as we're growing it's hard to keep up. But we noticed the site slowed at peak hours. it was very small, and you probably didn't notice, but we did :) Enjoy! Back about a year ago there was a new feature put in place to actively monitor real accounts here. I see a lot of sites that don't do this. How people expect to get real accounting numbers (not fiscally) and audit their system to know how to improve is beyond me. Example: vBulletin is the greatest forum written right now. But what happens if you run your board for 5 years? How do you know how many real users you have? Sure there's an 'active users' in the stats but that still doesn't do anything. the members number uses ALL enabled accounts. I care about how many active accounts we have here. not how many total registrations. That's mental masturbation. So the thought was, how should the site handle people who sign up and don't use the script? What about the people that do use it but find later it's just not something they like? The answer is this: If you have an account, and there is 0 hits to your member number in 30 days you get deleted. It doesn't matter how many referrers you have or how long you've been here. If you don't use your account for 30 days it's gone. There's really no downside here. if you find your account is gone any referrers you'd have had have already passed the max history anyway. Sign up a new account and put the stuff back on your site. This issue will be resolved in 2.0 |
